March 8 - ConExpo 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada, got off to a quick start from Manitowoc, with several crane purchases being celebrated at the company's booth.

Crane rental and specialised haulage company W.O. Grubb has purchased the first three Grove GMK5150L all-terrains cranes in North America and celebrated the purchase during a handover ceremony at the Manitowoc Cranes booth, directly next to the first GMK5150L unit to go to the region.

The GMK5150L, which debuted at bauma 2016, is one of Grove's newest models. With a load capacity of 150 tonnes and a 60 m (197 ft) boom, it is one of the most powerful and versatile five-axle cranes in its class, says Manitowoc.

Meanwhile, only minutes after the new Grove TMS9000-2 truck crane was unveiled at the event, Davis Motor Crane Service celebrated a purchase of the breakthrough model.

The 100-tonne TMS9000-2 truck crane features a number of improvements over previous models that will enable owners to increase their utilisation and lifting capabilities, claims Manitowoc.
