UAE-based project logistics firm Polaris Shipping Agencies has handled a 120-tonne gas turbine rotor in the Middle East, having been shipped from Europe.

As part of its scope of work, Polaris Shipping Agencies conducted comprehensive feasibility studies, detailed route surveys, and secured all road transport permissions and escorts ahead of the vessel’s arrival in the Middle East.

“In the dynamic world of project logistics, every successful move is much more than the physical transport of cargo – it’s a story of strategic planning, meticulous execution, and unwavering teamwork,” commented a company spokesperson.

Once the gas turbine rotor arrived at the discharge port, Polaris Shipping Agencies offloaded the project cargo and then deployed specialised heavy lift equipment for the inland transportation.

Despite the challenges that came with the rotor’s weight, dimensions, and the strict delivery schedule for the project, the piece was delivered to the customer’s site on time, without incident or delay.

A member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN), Polaris Shipping Agencies was established in 1992. Working across the UAE and the Middle East, the company provides end-to-end solutions tailored to complex cargo and time-critical projects.
