June 14 - Indian construction and engineering company, NCC, has taken delivery of a Liebherr LTR 1220 telescopic crawler crane.

NCC's LTR 1220, which according to Liebherr is the first of its kind in India, is currently working on the Nagpur Metro project, where the crane has been utilised to hoist girders for the two new metro lines, which have a total length of 38 km (17.4 miles).

The LTR 1220 features double grouser crawler pads for off-road operation, while for use inside a hall or on the road, polyamide plates can be installed on the pads to protect the surface of the floor.

The crawler crane is fitted with a telescopic boom, meaning it does not need to be assembled and erected and can be quickly relocated on the job site.

NCC's fleet consists a Liebherr 400-tonne capacity crawler crane and a 200-tonne capacity mobile crane, which are used in various projects across India.
