April 25 - From summer 2018, A2SEA will play a key role in building the 385 MW Arkona offshore wind farm for E.ON and Statoil.

The wind farm is located in the Baltic Sea and A2SEA's purpose-built offshore installation vessel Sea Challenger will be deployed to install 60 Siemens 6 MW turbines.

"The contract cements A2SEA's position in the installation market as a competent, serious contractor," says Jens Frederik Hansen, ceo at A2SEA.

E.ON will have responsibility for building and operating the wind farm, with energy company Statoil having a 50 percent stake and being involved in the project from the start.

When fully commissioned, the offshore wind farm will provide electricity to approximately 400,000 German homes by 2019.
