May 9 - Airpes has designed and manufactured a wind turbine blade lifting system for Vestas.

Airpes explained that Vestas required improved productivity and a more quick, effective way of preparing wind turbine blade shipments. The blades are produced in the manufacturer's plant but are moved within the plant to prepare them for delivery elsewhere.

Airpes proposed the design and construction of a lattice lifting system attached to a reachstacker using a twistlock system. The lattice features four adjustable winches that are used to lift and turn the components. The system's control is electro-hydraulic.

The system also comprises a touch screen installed in the cockpit, which controls all security elements, including angle, wind load information and signal video cameras.
