July 3 - Effective October 1, 2015, Sir John Hood will become chairman of maritime design, engineering and risk management consultancy BMT Group.
Hood replaces current chairman Neil Cross, who is retiring on September 30, 2015 at the end of BMT's financial year.
Hood is non-executive director of BG Group and WPP, as well as chairman of Urenco, Matakina and Study Group. He is also president and ceo of the Robertson Foundation, and chair of the Rhodes Trust and Teach For All.
Cross has been chairman of BMT for 9 years, in which time he has helped implement various strategies and nearly double the group's turnover, said the organisation.
