Mammoet keeps it clean in Texas

Mammoet has introduced a wash facility to clean its fleet of heavy equipment at its facility in Rosharon, Texas.

The wash facility’s structure and system were constructed, designed and equipped by Alklean Industries. The facility complies with standards set by the Texas Commission of Environment Quality.

“The features of the new system make cleaning equipment highly efficient while reducing and reusing the amount of water required,” said Mammoet.

The wash rack includes a bio-digester system that utilises a specialised strain of aerobic bacteria to remove fats, oils and greases from the water and prepare it for reuse. The two pressure washers can use either fresh well or recycled water; any excess water produced is cleaned of fats, oils and greases and reused for dust control on the roads at the back of the property, keeping waste to a minimum.

Meanwhile, the wash bay housing itself was designed to accommodate the various dimensions of Mammoet’s specialised machinery.
