Spain-headquartered freight forwarder Altius has transported a 280-tonne de-ethaniser column from Santos, Brazil, to Bahia Blanca, Argentina.
The vessel berthed at the Patagonia del Norte terminal in Argentina and, following an inspection of the equipment by Altius, the cargo was unloaded by the ship’s gear.
Weighing 280 tonnes and measuring 50 m in length/6.5 in diameter, the column’s length meant that it had to be rotated to allow passage between the cranes.
Last year, Altius coordinated the delivery of a 1,300-tonne STS super-post-Panamax crane.
