Boskalis’ semi-submersible vessel Blue Marlin is transporting a 41,000-tonne floating production unit (FPU) from Asia to Angola.

The unit, a converted semi-submersible rig, measures 80 m by 68 m – 5 m wider than the Blue Marlin’s deck – and will soon be discharged in Angola. Ultimately, the FPU is destined for the Republic of the Congo’s first natural gas liquefaction project.

In August, Boskalis reported a strong first half of the year, with all three of its divisions showing substantial increases in their results.
