GustoMSC has worked with BigLift Shipping to load components for a 1,600-tonne capacity leg crane onboard Happy Sky in Ulsan, South Korea.

Happy Sky loaded with crane components

The crane components are now on route to Mammoet in Schiedam, the Netherlands. They are destined for Cadeler’s Wind Orca jack-up installation vessel.

Wind Orca and its sister vessel Wind Osprey form Cadeler’s O-class fleet of vessels, used for the installation, maintenance and decommissioning of offshore wind farms. The cranes on both of the vessels are being upgraded to increase the capacity from 1,200 tonnes to 1,600 tonnes, to cater for the increasing size of wind turbines.

By the beginning of 2024, both of the O-class vessels will be fitted with the new cranes, operating with a radius of 40 m. The main hook will be able to reach 160 m above the main deck.
