Two modules were lifted onboard in Nantong, China, in close coordination with Jumbo-SAL-Alliance’s engineering team and the client. The lifts required bespoke module lifting frames developed at the JGC Morimatsu facility.

Before delivering the modules to Umm Qasr, Jumbo Kinetic will call at Ulsan, South Korea, and Sattahip, Thailand, to load more project cargo destined for the refinery.

This is the third of seven consecutive voyages that the heavy lift vessel will complete for the project; SAL Heavy Lift’s vessel Svenja is also being put to work to support the refinery upgrade project and has just completed the first of seven voyages.

In total, Jumbo-SAL-Alliance will transport a total of 450,000 freight tons of cargo for the project. Shipments will include 80 modules and 31 pieces of equipment comprising a regenerator, vacuum columns, a fractionator, and seven 800-tonne bullet tanks, each measuring 82 m in length.
