Two modules were delivered to Woodfibre LNG on January 17.

The arrival of the pretreatment and process utility modules brings the total delivered to 14 at the Woodfibre LNG project site, lifting overall construction progress to nearly 60 percent complete.

The units arrived aboard the heavy lift vessel, Seaway Swan, on January 17. Following inspections, the welds attaching the modules to the deck of the ship were cut and the modules are being prepared to be unloaded and moved into position using SPMTs. Another five modules are due to arrive over the next few months.

“These modules are critical building blocks of Woodfibre LNG; both serving critical functions within the operations of our future facility,” said Luke Schauerte, ceo at Woodfibre LNG,

The pretreatment module removes impurities from natural gas feedstock, such as any moisture or any trace gases so the gas meets strict specifications for liquefaction. The module is among the largest for the facility, weighing over 12,292 tonnes and measuring more than 90 m long and 47 m high.

The process utility module supplies the critical common process utilities for the LNG process, including the tempered cooling water system, hot oil heating system and the thermal oxidiser.
