The Balikpapan refinery is modernising its facilities in line with the latest environmental standards. The state-owned Indonesian oil company Pertamina ordered the necessary components from the South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries. They were loaded onto the heavy lift vessel Hanjin Leader and shipped to the port of Balikpapan. From there, LV Logistics transported them 3 km overland to the refinery using Goldhofer equipment.

The shipment exceeded 24,500 cu m and included a disengager/stripper weighing 1,031 tonnes, plus two regenerators weighing 1,357 tonnes and 1,003 tonnes.

LV Logistics deployed three Goldhofer PST/SL self-propelled modules combined with THP/SL modules with 20 axle lines each to handle the loads.
