Multitrade has delivered out-of-gauge (OOG) cargo from Barcelona in Spain to a warehouse in Germany.
The unit measured 27.5 m x 3.3 m x 4.2 m and weighed 18 tons (16.3 tonnes).
Multitrade said that due to the size of the cargo and time constraints, the company used one of its own roll trailers.
This meant that Multitrade could offer a solution that took advantage of shortsea shipping lines rather than moving the cargo by road. This minimised the amount of boundaries that needed to be crossed, saving several weeks of time that would have been required to obtain permits.
Multitrade is a member of the XLProject (XLP) network in Spain.
