A 1,630-tonne pre-piling template has been loaded onboard Pan Ocean’s semi-submersible vessel Sun Rise in Vlissingen, the Netherlands.

SAL Heavy Lift, in its role as commercial agent for Pan Ocean in certain European countries, said the template measured 47 m x 47 m x 26 m. The ro-ro operation involved moving the structure from the quay onto the ship using SPMTs at Heerema Marine Contractor’s yard in Vlissingen.

From there, Sun Rise called at the port Rotterdam to load additional offshore handling equipment. Heerema’s deepwater construction vessel Thialf carried out the loading operations.

According to SAL Heavy Lift, Sun Rise is now en route to Singapore. After that, the ship will be deployed for a jacket installation operation for Ørsted’s Greater Changhua 1 and 2a offshore wind farms in Taiwan.
