Brazilian special cargo logistics company Windlog has successfully coordinated the transport of the world’s largest swinging bell from Poland to Brazil.

The Vox Patris bell, weighing 55 tonnes and measuring 4 m in height and 4.5 m in diameter, was cast in southern Poland by companies Jan Felczyríski and Rduch BelIs & Clocks.

After being packed and hoisted by cranes, the bell and its components – which included two smaller bells and structural parts – were transported to the port of Gdańsk, Poland, and prepared for shipment. The cargo was secured on three flatracks and two open-top containers; it was transhipped in Hamburg, Germany, before travelling to the port of Santos in Brazil. The final leg saw a further 1,600 km via overland transport to the city of Trindade, in the state of Goiás.

Windlog, an XLProjects (XLP) member, organised every stage of the overland transport, transhipment, and Customs clearance at the Baltic Hub in Gdańsk.
