July 28 - The Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA) has relaunched the DrayQ mobile application to help speed the flow of cargo along local freight corridors, reduce truck-related air emissions, and save fuel.

DrayQ is designed to give truck drivers real-time information about wait times around the port to determine the best time to enter the terminals and reduce the time spent in traffic, says the NWSA.

The wait times are determined by recording the GPS data of driver's smartphones.

First launched in October 2016, the app has since been upgraded in response to user concerns regarding the accuracy of the wait times. This has been achieved by increasing the number of GPS readers leading to the terminal entrance.

The NWSA comprises the ports of Seattle and Tacoma in Washington State, USA.
