Spanish energy company Iberdrola Renewables is developing the Baltic Eagle project. HMC called on its installation vessel Thalif to perform its share of the works.

Van Oord was awarded a contract for the transport and installation of the foundations as well as the supply, transport and installation of interconnection cables, said Iberdrola Renewables. The Dutch company will deploy its 8,000-tonne heavy lift installation vessel, Svanen, to install 50 monopiles measuring between 75-90 m in length (max. weight 1,402 tonnes). Load out is expected to begin in April 2023.

Vestas Offshore Wind is supplying 9 MW turbines for the project, which should be delivered and installed by 2024. When complete, the offshore wind farm will have an installed capacity of 476 MW.
