May 15 - The Port of Hamburg, Germany has handled a total of 32.8 million tonnes of cargo during the first three months of 2013.

General cargo throughput stood at 22.7 million tonnes for the first quarter of 2013, a 1.7 percent year-on-year fall. Bulk cargo handling at the gateway grew 6.3 percent year-on-year in 2013 to 101 million tonnes. At 2.2 million teu, container traffic at the gateway remained static in Q1 2013, when compared to the same period a year earlier.
