Iskes Towage & Salvage has taken delivery of two Damen Azimuth stern drive (ASD) Tugs 2810.

The vessels were built at Damen Song Cam Shipyards in Vietnam and delivered last year to Damen Shipyards Gorinchem in the Netherlands, as part of the group's strategy to position built-for-stock vessels in Europe.

According to Damen, the tugs, named Phoenix and Lynx, were delivered within two weeks of the contract being signed.

Measuring 28 m in length, with a bollard pull of 60 tonnes, the tugs are suitable for a wide range of duties, says Damen, including vessel handling, offshore supply duties and ship-to-ship transfers.

With these acquisitions, Iskes now owns and operates a total of nine Damen ASD tugs as part of a fleet of 18 vessels.

Based in the port of IJmuiden, the Netherlands, Iskes provides harbour towage, salvage and emergency response, port consultancy services, as well as deepsea towage.

Iskes says that, depending on specific requirements, its specialist operations department for deepsea towage can provide a suitable leading tug, as well as arrange assisting tugs, port agents and local compliance in ports of departure and arrival.
