The Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) will introduce a service connecting Asia with the US East Coast.

The weekly service will call at Vietnam and Yantian (China), with direct connections to the US ports of Savannah and Charleston, as well as New York.

MSC said the service will allow it to improve the distribution of the cargo flows in its existing network, and to improve schedule reliability for its customers.

The shipping company added that it is expecting to launch the service from Asia in May, subject to compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
