April 17 - Ruslan International has arranged the shipment of a 101 tonne oil platform component from Bergen, Norway to Busan, South Korea, on an AN-124 freighter flight.

The shipment comprised of a separator, two support frames and loading equipment, weighing 114 tonnes in total.

The separator measured 11.6 m long, 3.9 m wide and 6.04 m in height. In order to fit into the cargo hold of the AN-124 the piece had to be turned horizontally by 90 degrees. Ruslan International's load planners designed a bespoke support cradle to enable the separator to be supported in its offset position during the flight.

Five tonnes of additional equipment required for unloading at the final destination was carried on a separate flight.

The AN-124 flew from Bergen to Busan, via Helsinki, Novosibirsk (Russia) and Tianjin (China).

Ruslan International is a joint venture between Antonov Airlines and Volga-Dnepr Airlines to market their combined AN-124 freighter fleet.
