Wallenius Sol’s South Enabler has successfully completed its sea trials in the Adriatic Sea as the company prepares for the vessel to join its fleet.

The ship was built by Visentini Shipyard and designed by NAOS Ship and Boat Design, both of which are Italian. Measuring 203 m in length, Space Enabler is set to replace ML Freyja in the Mann Lines fleet, chiefly serving the ports of TurkuPaldiskiBremerhavenZeebruggeTilburyCuxhaven – Turku.

South Enabler boasts a capacity of 3,000 lane m as well as 200 cars, is fitted with two 7,200 kW Wärtsilä engines, and can reach a speed of 22 knots. Moreover, it is both a RINA class and ice class 1A vessel.

The methanol-ready ship is expected to be officially delivered in mid-May and enter service under a five-year terms and conditions contract.

In February 2025, HLPFI reported that Wallenius Sol had acquires UK-headquartered Mann Lines.
