April 10 - Liebherr unveiled its new 60-tonne LTM 1060-3.1 mobile crane at Bauma 2013, and since then dozens of the model have been delivered to customers throughout Europe and also on other continents.

One of the first of these machines was supplied to the Duisburg branch of Wasel-Krane, which primarily uses the 60-tonne capacity crane in power plants and refineries.

The LTM 1060-3.1 mobile crane is the most powerful three-axle model on the market, says Liebherr, and can achieve hoist heights of up to 63 m with its 48 m telescopic boom and double folding jib.

"The crane is really good in chemical plants in particular," said Jürgen Beck, logistics manager at Wasel responsible for the new machine. "The 60-tonner can be used for a whole host of applications as a result of its very strong and long mast."

Crane driver Mike Brenner was also satisfied with the crane. "Up till now the crane has been 100 percent reliable," he said.

Liebherr can supply a range of optional accessories for the crane, which include a remote control, assembly jib, rooster sheave and a second winch gear for two-hook operations.
