ABP names Southampton head

April 5 - Associated British Ports (ABP) has appointed Alastair Welch to replace Nick Ridehalgh as director of the UK Port of Southampton.

Welch joins ABP with extensive experience in the transport sector, having worked at Heathrow's Terminal 4 and London Southend Airport.

Ridehalgh, who joined ABP in 1991 and was named Southampton port director in 2014, steps down from the role on Friday, April 8.
