AGL closes Tropical sale

September 5 - AGL Resources has closed the sale of its Tropical Shipping and Seven Seas Insurance businesses to a subsidiary of Seattle-based Saltchuk Resources.

HLPFI reported on April 8 that a subsidiary of Saltchuk Resources had entered into a binding purchase and sale agreement to acquire Tropical Shipping and its related transportation, consolidation and cargo insurance companies.

Tropical Shipping operates ships from Canada and South Florida to the Bahamas and Caribbean as well as providing inter-island transportation services throughout the region, and has its own dedicated project logistics team.
