Krehbiel named Longview ceo

September 2 - Norm Krehbiel has been elected as chief executive officer (ceo) at the Port of Longview, Washington state, USA.

Krehbiel, who has served as interim ceo since January 2016, was unanimously elected by the port's board of commissioners to take up the role on a permanent basis.

"While serving as interim ceo, it was apparent that he was the clear choice to lead the Port of Longview into the future," said commission president Bob Bagaason.

Krehbiel joined the port in 1993 as director of facilities and engineering. In 2008, he was appointed deputy executive director and later chief operating officer, before being named interim ceo this year.

"This is an exciting step in my career and I thank the board of commissioners for their confidence in my ability to lead our organisation," stated Krehbiel.
