TICONTRACT appointment for UK market

September 18 - German e-commerce platform for freight tenders, TICONTRACT, has appointed industry veteran Scott Stevenson as business development manager for the UK market.

TICONTRACT brokered Eur 3.7 billion in 2008 worth of freight transport in 2008, including high and heavy activity. Using TICONTRACT, shippers are able to negotiate their long-term freight contracts with selected suppliers. The tool enables shippers to standardise their processes and optimise their freight costs as well as find and select carriers which fit their precise requirements.

Currently, there are nearly 10,000 logistics service providers registered on TICONTRACT.
