Aaras pipes up

August 26 - Aaras Shipping Agencies has received the breakbulk vessel Salta at Port Qasim, which was carrying 3,845 tonnes of equipment for use in a water sanitation project in Pakistan.

Aaras handled the unloading of the cargo, which consisted mainly of ductile iron pipes, and the subsequent delivery to storage areas.

The cargo was then loaded onto tucks and transported by road to Faisalabad - a 1,200 km journey from Port Qasim.

Aaras used two mobile cranes during the loading and unloading process of the pipes, and arranged wooden cradles and lashing materials to ensure a safe journey to the jobsite.

Aaras Shipping Agencies is a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for Pakistan.
