June 11 - David Demag, president of US-based Demag Riggers & Crane Service, has won a raffle for a world-class trailer valued at USD50,000 donated by XL Specialized Trailers.

The raffle raised more than USD60,000 for the SC&RA Foundation which was set up in 1984 to afford SC&RA members to make philanthropic contributions to an organisation that focuses entirely on furthering their own industry through research, education and scholarships. Over the years, the SC&RA membership has responded by providing over USD500,000 for Foundation programmes.

The winner selected a premium 110,000-pound-capacity Hydraulic Detachable Gooseneck Construction trailer with an 18-foot deck, low profile and deep well for long booms.
"We haul a lot of transformers from one substation to another for the Vermont Electric Power Company, and we were able to order a trailer that's ideal for that work," David Demag said. "The people we've dealt with at XL Specialized have been great."

Selecting the winning ticket was Scott Wall, XL Specialized president and CEO. "We donated the trailer to demonstrate our commitment to the SC&RA Foundation," he said. "The Foundation has done so much for the industry. Much of that work has benefited XL Specialized and other trailer manufacturers."

The SC&RA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) corporation with the mission to advance research and education while furthering other charitable, educational and scientific purposes for the industries served by the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA).
