AGL engines ahead

July 8 - Alexander Global Logistics (AGL), member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN) for Germany, Russia and Mongolia, has shipped a number of heavy diesel engines from Germany to China, writes Isabel Freedman.

The shipment of the diesel engines, each of which weighed up to 159 tonnes, was particularly challenging since the cargo had to be loaded under deck on a container ship, explained Jürgen Weyhausen, director of projects at AGL.

However, said Weyhausen, after extensive technical studies, AGL's surveyors devised a safe solution for the loading process.
