UK-based heavy transport provider Collett & Sons has handled a pair of transformers – each weighing 143 tonnes – at the port of Goole in the UK.

Collett, working under CPA contract lift conditions, handled all port operations. After unloading the Winder Power transformers from the vessel, Collett individually transported each item on a 14-axle modular flat-top trailer to the company’s Goole depot.

Both transformers have been stored at the company’s depot, with delivery to Monk Fryston substation due for later this year.

Last month, Collett added the ‘missing piece of the puzzle’ by purchasing a 350-tonne capacity modular side girder bridge system (SGB) from Greiner.
