July 5 - According to a post on its Facebook page, Ukrainian aircraft manufacturer Antonov is seeking US partners for the joint development of a new model of AN-77 transport aircraft.

The post indicates that the question was discussed on July 3 during a visit to the company by the delegation of the Committee on Transport and Infrastructure of the US House of Representatives.

Antonov provided a proposal for the joint development of the AN-77 - a modernised version of the medium-heavy military transport aircraft, capable of short take-off and landing (STOL). The aircraft could potentially occupy a niche between C-130 with a payload of up to 21 tonnes and C-17 - with a payload of up to 76 tonnes, the manufacturer said in its Facebook post.

The post suggests that Antonov offered to organise cooperation on this project with the broad participation of American aircraft manufacturers and suppliers.
