Ceva Logistics is adding to its presence in Africa by revealing plans to construct a logistics base in the port area of Kribi, Cameroon, and by renewing a contract with aircraft equipment manufacturer Safran.
The 30,000 sq m logistics platform is expected to open between September 2025 and January 2026 and will offer 25,000 sq m of import-export container storage space and 5,000 sq m of warehouse space. The platform is strategically located 2 km from the Port Authority of Kribi.
Deemed by Ceva to be a strategic investment, the logistics platform in Kribi – which boasts the country’s only deepwater port – is looking likely to become a key corridor and economic gateway for trade development in the region. Ceva has Cameroonian offices in Douala, Yaoundé and Kribi, and is looking to expand its logistics offering in four additional African countries by the end of 2025, adding to the current 24.
Additionally, Ceva has signed a contract with aircraft equipment manufacturer Safran which covers the renewal of transport services for three years between Morocco and France, and between Tunisia and France. As part of this agreement, Ceva will collect aerospace components from Safran’s sites in Morocco and Tunisia and manage their daily transport to France, with the inbound loads that leave France feeding the Safran sites in both North African countries.
To enable this process, Ceva operates a multimodal transport solution combining road freight and ro-ro shipping where, once in France, the loads pass through the company’s cross-dock sites in Toulouse and Vitrolles before moving to their final locations across the country. The same approach is used in managing goods being exported from France.
Earlier this month, HLPFI reported that Ceva Logistics was adding three ro-ro vessels to offer connections from the Far East to Central and South America via a regular trade lane and spot services.
