December 16 - Blue Water Shipping has coordinated the transport of four wind turbines to the Danish turbine test centre in Osterild.

The fourth and final transport involved the delivery of a 7 MW Siemens turbine, which included tower sections weighing up to 190 tonnes each, with diameters of almost 7 m.

All of the turbine components were loaded by Blue Water in the Danish ports of Esbjerg, Lindo and Aabenraa, before being shipped to the port of Hanstholm.

Arnt Vad Jensen, projects manager at Blue Water, who was in charge of unloading the four wind turbines at Hanstholm, explained that all of the components were directly lifted onto specialised trailers for transport to the test centre.

"The gigantic components are highly technical and very valuable, so we evaluated and conducted every step of the operation carefully," he added.
