July 26 - Following a meeting between Cargolux International Airlines management and the two unions representing staff at the Luxembourg carrier, OGBL and LCGB, on July 24 all parities reached an agreement on an addendum that will form part of a revised c

HLPFI reported on June 10 that OGBL and LCGB decided to enter the National Conciliation Office rather than accept an offer tabled by the airline, in which Cargolux says it had agreed to re-instate the collective work agreement (CWA) until December 31, 2014 in return for the unions agreeing to a USD12.5 million reduction in employee costs for the airline's 2014 financial year (http://tinyurl.com/n634pb8).

In arriving at the new addendum, the Cargolux management revised its offer on several occasions to find an agreement that was acceptable to all parties. The effect of the addendum will be to reinstate the CWA to the 31 December 2014 in return for the unions agreeing to the optimisation of working time with levels of activity in the airline. In addition, the unions have also agreed - subject to the finalisation of the relevant documentation - to a derogation request to be submitted to the DAC.

Cargolux and OGBL initialed the addendum at the end of the meeting. However, LCGB had decided to wait until such time all documents impacting the staff was in hand and agreed.

The parties also committed to the establishment of a pilot 'off-day pool' scheme, jointly managed by the pilot representatives and Cargolux. The scheme aims to provide resources for continuous productivity initiatives within flight operations.
