Edwards takes Aspen delivery

July 13 - Edwards Moving & Rigging has added a 125-tonne capacity Aspen trailer to its fleet.

The eight-axle dual-lane trailer has completed its first job, which involved the transport of a 190,000-lb (86-tonne) rotor over 400 miles (643 km) across a number of US states.

Edwards explained that the trailer's perimeter frame allows the transport of tall components, while its two steerable dollies can negotiate tight turns with ease.

The US based haulier added that the Aspen trailer is very "bridge friendly" due to the ability of the dolly axles to increase from widths of 14.6 ft (4.4 m) to 20.2 ft (6.1 m) while moving.
