June 26 - Schenker Logistics LLC is a new operation established by DB Schenker with Salem Freight International, in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Farook Al Zeer, who is currently managing director of Schenker LLC in Dubai, has extended his existing responsibilities to also become managing director of the new joint venture.
The company says that as a result of the pairing, customers will benefit from DB Schenker's global integrated network and products such as air and ocean freight, contract logistics, projects, oil and gas, and specialised vertical markets.
"A major part of the world's future growth will come from markets in Middle East and Africa. This is why we continue to strengthen our presence in the UAE, a strategic central location at the crossroads of important trading routes between East and West. We plan to further strengthen our network in this growing region," explained Peter Glatz, regional director Near Middle East/Africa, Schenker AG.
