Container shipping group MSC, through its subsidiary SAS Shipping Agencies Services Sàrl, has proposed a NOK7.64 billion (USD700 million) takeover of Norwegian ro-ro tonnage provider Gram Car Carriers (GCC).

GCC is the world’s third-largest tonnage provider within the pure car truck carrier (PCTC) segment, with 18 owned vessels. It provides vessels and logistics solutions to a network of clients comprising global and regional PCTC operators. 

MSC presently has two car carrier ships (capacity 6,700 ceu each) and transports cars on its containerised vessels.
