Petrasco in big rig win

September 9 - Petrasco Energy Logistics has won a contract from KCA Deutag to transport the T-45 mobile land drilling rig from Germany to North Africa.

The complex move, which will begin immediately, involves transporting the 2,000-tonne unassembled rig from Georgsdorf in Germany to Skikda, Algeria and onwards to a site in the Ardrar province.

The scope of Petrasco's work includes the coordination of load-out from the origin in Germany, transportation to the loading port, cargo handling at the Algerian port, and oncarriage to the remote desert rig site.

In addition, Petrasco will negotiate and oversee all port charges, the chartering of a suitable vessel, and import documentation and Customs clearance services.

Petrasco, which is a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for Dubai, has called on fellow WWPC member for the Netherlands, Steder Group, to assist with the transport and port operations for this project.
