Operating every Friday and Sunday, the connection will provide dedicated freighter services to “booming northern China”, explained Wolfgang Meier, president of Silk Way West. He added that there is a strong demand for both east and westbound shipments of automotive and aerospace-related goods.

The carrier has a global network of more than 45 destinations through Baku connecting China, Central Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa and North America.

Silk Way West Airlines' fleet consists of more than ten Boeing 747 freighters; at least two more aircraft are expected to join the fleet in due course, said the airline.
