Antwerp-headquartered Ahlers Logistics is aiming to expand its North American operations having appointed Ludivine Morbois as its project and procurement manager earlier this year.

Based in the USA, Morbois joined Ahlers Logistics from Demanko Logistics where she served as project cargo manager. In her new role she will support Ahlers’ growing portfolio of American customers and strengthen its expertise in complex global project logistics.

Ahlers already supports many US companies with projects all over the world,” said Morbois. “Now, with our own branch here, we can offer them direct, on-the-ground support.”

She pointed to metals, energy and industrial machinery as key verticals for Ahlers, adding that the US infrastructure renewal plan will drive significant demand for oversized and project cargo.

On the challenges facing customers in the region, Morbois highlighted tariffs, trade policy uncertainty and capacity issues. “Clients want clarity: they need to know how duties will impact their supply chains. Our team has been helping them navigate these changes by advising on HTS codes, Customs procedures, and smarter routing options.”

In the midst of driver shortages and rising costs, meanwhile, Ahlers has been building strong relationships with carriers to address the difficulties facing the US trucking industry.

“Our personal relationships with carriers, our European quality standards, and our ability to connect the US to complex markets (such as Central Asia or Ukraine) are key differentiators,” Morbois continued. When Ukraine’s reconstruction begins, for example, US companies will be looking to supply machinery and materials. Ahlers is uniquely positioned to connect them with those opportunities, thanks to our long-standing presence and expertise in the region.”

This latest expansion follows the recent establishment of a branch in Hamburg, Germany, and appointment of Julian Kurz as its business development manager, Western Europe, to grow its presence in the DACH region. The company also recently appointed Dave van den Bos as its ceo to drive the company’s international growth and strengthen its project logistics focus.
