Almajdouie Logistics will support Saudi Arabia’s first utility-scale wind power project – the Dumat Al Jandal wind farm – and has boosted its fleet with six four-axle TeleMAX flatbed trailers from Faymonville.

With an installed capacity of 400 MW, the wind farm will be located 560 miles (901 km) north of Riyadh in the Al Jouf region of Saudi Arabia. Almajdouie will move wind energy components from Duba port to the project site – a distance of 700 km.

Speaking with HLPFI in the March/April edition of the magazine, Eyad Arafah, Almajdouie Logistics general manager – heavy lift, said that this project will keep the company busy until the end of the year and is accompanied by investment in new equipment.

The Faymonville TeleMAX trailers are part of this investment. They feature a loading platform that can be extended from the basic length of 18.6 m up to 55.4 m.

Last year, Almajdouie also added specialised trailers from Goldhofer to its fleet, as HLPFI reported here

Commenting on the project, Arafah said: “As it is the first wind farm in Saudi Arabia, we will be the first in the country to handle these 74 m-long blades. This is one of the main challenges – it is a delicate operation.”
