Shipping Australia has appointed Fleur Walsh of A.P. Møller – Mærsk as director and Phillip Holmes of “K” Line (Australia) as its chair.
With experience in various senior roles across the manufacturing, utilities and transportation industries, Walsh joined A.P. Møller-Mærsk in February 2023. As head of operations for Maersk Oceania, she is responsible for leading the operational function across the ocean, landside, and airfreight arms in Australia and New Zealand.
“I look forward to making a positive contribution to our ever-changing industry, which is so vital to the wellbeing of our nation. I’m also looking forward to ongoing discussion with regulators and government to ensure that our industry continues to thrive and improve its competitiveness at home and overseas,” said Walsh.
Prior to joining A.P. Møller-Mærsk, Walsh worked for the likes of ANL, CMA CGM, and DP World.
Meanwhile, Phillip Holmes has been appointed as the chair of Shipping Australia, succeeding My Therese Blank. General manager of “K” Line (Australia), Holmes has been a member of Shipping Australia for a number of years, most recently serving as deputy chair.
