BBC Chartering has appointed Alex Thomassen to a sales and chartering role covering the Nordic and Baltic region

Thomassen first came into the BBC Chartering fold in 2013 when he joined New Orleans-based Dan-Gulf Shipping; at that time BBC partook in a joint venture with the company under the name BBC Caytrans. In April 2015, he joined the BBC Chartering team in Leer, Germany, as a chartering broker for an initial spell of six months, before heading off to Singapore, Melbourne (Australia), and Seoul (South Korea), before returning to Germany in 2017.

Thomassen has now relocated to Copenhagen (Denmark) and will work out of the BBC Chartering office in Esbjerg. “That’s a new and exciting chapter in my professional career. I am glad to be back in Denmark together with my family and I really look forward to reconnect with existing contacts and getting to know new clients all over the Nordic and Baltic countries,” he said.
