The British International Freight Association (BIFA) has revealed the shortlist for its 37th annual Freight Service Awards. 33 companies have been shortlisted as finalists for the nine service categories.
The finalists in each category will now go forward to the final round of judging with winners set to be announced at the BIFA Freight Service Awards Ceremony on January 15, 2026.
deugro, DHL Global Forwarding, DFDS, and Killick Martin & Co are vying for the project forwarding category award.
Brunel European, JPM Future, Simpex, and Transportify make up the European logistics forwarder of the year category, with the extra mile award comprising Carousel Logistics, Efret, James Cargo Services, Mercury Freight, and UPS SCS. Meanwhile, Denholm Good Logistics and KLN Freight are battling it out for the sea freight forwarder of the year award.
Atlantic Pacific Global Logistics, James Cargo Services, KLN Freight, and Pro-Logist make up the shortlist for the air freight forwarder of the year category. For the Customs compliance services award, ALS Customs Services, EV Cargo Global Forwarding, Samphire Cargo, Seafast Logistics, and UK Customs Solutions have all been shortlisted.
The staff development award is being contested by Ital Logistics, Metro Shipping, Neon Freight, Pro Carrier, and Unsworth UK. Baxter Freight, Carousel Logistics, DFDS, and Freight Systems Express (Wales) make up the shortlist for sustainable logistics & the environment award, meanwhile value-added services contains Elite Logistics Consultants, HSM Global, IFE Global Group, and Uniserve.
For the apprentice of the year category, Unsworth UK has two candidates in Dylan Cheesman and Nathan Brooks, as does DHL Global Forwarding with Joseph Findlay and Peter Boyd. Joseph Duffy of Metro Shipping and Avocet Clearance’s Veronika Litterova make up the final spots for the award.
cargo-partner’s Josh Harbottle, DSV’s Nathan George, Gravitas Worldwide’s Rachel Townsley, plus Rohlig’s Mitchell Ward-Broadfield have all been shortlisted for the young freight forwarder of the year category.
