Northport, which is situated at Malaysia’s Port Klang.

Northport, which is part of MMC Corporation, is seen as one of Malaysia’s most important multipurpose ports. It features a 15 m draught, 5,400 m of quay and specialised berths for bulk, breakbulk, ro-ro and container cargo.

Operating over 50 terminals across Europe and Asia and handling upwards of 70 million tonnes of bulk and breakbulk cargo annually, Euroports deems Malaysia as the strategic gateway to Southeast Asia and beyond, given its location along the Straits of Malacca. The firm has cited Malaysia’s strong industrial sector as well as the country’s regional markets as key factors behind the strategic collaboration.

“With Malaysia as a hub, we can support our current and potential customers with even greater efficiency, flexibility and reliability,” explained Frederic Platini, ceo Euroports. “This is not just an expansion but it’s an invitation to our partners to grow with us in one of the world’s most dynamic regions.”

During Q4 2025, Euroports expects breakbulk shipments and containers to begin arriving at Northport.
