December 18 - The Port of Everett has appointed Steve Kirkelie as its new chief of administrative and legal affairs.
Kirkelie, who is currently the deputy city attorney for Puyallup, will join the port on January 5, 2015. The new position was created to fill the legal role vacated with the promotion of Les Reardanz to executive director and ceo.
The Port of Everett has said that it is not filling Reardanz's previous position of deputy executive director at this time.
As chief of administrative and legal affairs, Kirkelie will be responsible for handling the port's day-to-day legal activities, as well as overseeing the gateway's environmental clean-ups, environmental reviews and human resources.
Brad Cattle of Anderson Hunter Law Firm will remain the port's attorney.
