Globalink Logistics, part of the Kerry Logistics Network, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Georgia’s Anaklia City to cooperate on the development of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port and special economic zone (SEZ).
Anaklia Port and Anaklia SEZ is scheduled to open by the end of 2020. It is expected to become one of the largest ports in the Black Sea region and first deepwater port in Georgia, says Kerry Logistics.
Edwardo Erni, managing director - China and North Asia at Kerry Logistics, said: We are committed to devising innovative solutions to facilitate the building of Anaklia Port into a successful logistics hub for the region with integrated logistics, sea-rail, and sea-road services.”
Upon completion, the port will be able to accommodate 10,000 teu vessels, catering for a mix of cargoes.
