March 24 - Germany headquartered forwarder Hansa Meyer Global has named Georg Bödecker as its new chief operating officer.

Bödecker joined the company from Trans Global Projects in Bremen, and will focus on southeast Asia, Central Asia, Africa and Scandinavia in his new role.

Meanwhile, Oliver Rupps was appointed as managing director of Hansa Meyer Global Transport and Hansa Meyer Global Holding, and will work alongside Hansa Meyer Global managing director, Henrique Wohltmann.

Hansa Meyer Global intends to step up its project forwarding business in Iran through its subsidiary company Global Logistik Internationale Speditions (GLI), following the relaxation of international sanctions.

GLI, which has been operational in Iran for 25 years, has strong expertise in general freight forwarding in the country, but has also increased its involvement in the project cargo business, working on the development of the South Pars gasfield development since 2008.
